'Retour à Zoutelande' is a tribute to perhaps the happiest period in my life, my carefree childhood on the southern beach of Zoutelande. My parents had a busy business in the center of Tilburg and unfortunately less time for their children. In the summer I was dropped off at the Geschiere family in Zoutelande, who regularly parked me on the beach for whole days. There I was allowed to play, play endlessly. Playing with water and sand, shells and stones, pieces of wood, rope and weed. Then looking forward with anticipation until the sea would take everything away again. And you could just start all over again.
